Our Beliefs
Every church has things that are distinctive about them. Even ones that define themselves as ‘nondenominational’ have practices, beliefs, or a culture, that set them apart from other groups. This can be confusing. John Wesley, a pioneer and founder within Protestantism is credited with saying “If you’re heart is as my heart, then give me your hand”. Simply put, if we agree on the big things, then lets work together for Jesus.
While we get our name from Jesus of Nazareth, you might be asking what else defines us as "Nazarene"? Here are few examples of what defines us as compared to other well known denominations:
In a nutshell we emphasize Christ-likeness, or being like Jesus (also called holiness). This means love, and the expression of it, is key in all our relationships.
We are a warm and friendly group. We greet one another, we laugh, we have fun and make music.
We are life-centered in our teaching and sensitive to the needs and concerns of others.
We give people opportunities to put their faith in to action through various avenues of service.
We are honored to take our place among the many who are called Christians.
We aim to be a family for all who love Jesus, the Nazarene.
